Guelph Minor Lacrosse AGM
Guelph Regals Annual General Meting (AGM) will be held at the Cooperators Building 130 MacDonell Street, Guelph, October 16 2018 at 7pm.
All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We are always looking for new members to volunteer their time to help the program grow and develop.
Welcome to the 2018 season of Guelph Minor Lacrosse! My name is Tricia Chilton, and I am the President of Guelph Minor Lacrosse Association for the 2018 season. I have a wonderful executive who have already been working tirelessly, to ensure all of our members have a successful and fun lacrosse season in 2018. We have recently started our coaches selection process, through an independent committee and selection process, and we are very excited for them to represent GMLA this season. Our 2018 coaches can be found on our web site.
We have some exciting new changes in place for the 2018 season. Our House League program is under going several changes with a new “modified contact” platform in place. We will also be welcoming other teams from neighboring communities for a new House League experience. We are working behind the scenes to implement other changes, that we are confident will make our 2018 house league program our best one yet!
Our registration will open very shortly and there will be 2 separate registration modules; one for Field lacrosse and one for Box lacrosse. The box registration program is new to Guelph this year and all registrants will have to upload proof of age this year when registering whether they have played prior to this year or not.
We will be kicking off our 2018 season in February with Field lacrosse try outs which will be posted shortly. We are very excited at the possibility that we will have girls field Lacrosse team for the first time in Guelph for the 2018 season.
Our Box lacrosse season will commence in March, with tryouts for Rep (girls and boys) and floor time for House League starting in April.
Our board has also been working very hard for the past 3 months to put systems in place to ensure all our members have a competitive, positive and fun environment to play lacrosse at their best potential while having fun, learning the game and developing their skills. We have listened to our members and put in place several committee’s to help improve our overall program for all children interested in playing lacrosse in Guelph.
Lastly, we are also looking forward to hosting our annual Chuck Miller Lacrosse Tournament which will take place from May 25-27 2018. It’s always wonderful to be able to show case our city, our club and the great game of lacrosse.
I welcome and encourage open communication from all our members, and I am always willing to listen to new ideas to improve our program for all of our members.
I am really looking forward to another exciting year of Lacrosse in Guelph!
Yours in Lacrosse
President - Guelph Minor Lacrosse
